Remember that ¼ to ⅓ of your growing area should be planted with cover crops (green manure) each season for healthy soil.

Garlic is a heavy feeder that should be grown in rich soil and fed organic fertilizer throughout the season for best results.

Premium Garlic Seed

We grow premium Garlic Seed bulbs for planting in Canada. Our farm is located in Manitoba's Red River Valley, in western Canada's prairie region. The farm's unique climate and geography has cold zone 3 winters, hot summers and periodic wet/dry cycles. Growing in these extreme conditions ensures strong selection pressure and adaptation of every garlic variety grown on our farm.

Cold Hardy

Garlic seed that is grown in a cold climate like Manitoba, exhibits strong vigour with great adaptability characteristics. Our garlic is suitable for all regions of Canada where garden vegetables can be grown. We recommend zones 2 or warmer, however, colder locations can still have success with some extra winter protection.

Heritage Varieties

We grow a large selection of Canadian heritage varieties, as well as selections from around the world that have been adapted to grow here in Canada. Every year we select the best garlic plants and continue to improve our seed stock.
