Legume Cover Crops & Green Manure
Legume cover crops are used to promote soil health, provide feed for animals and reduce the use of fertilizers. Legumes have the ability to establish a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, known as rhizobia. This allows the plants to increase total nitrogen in the soil without the use of fertilizer.
Like other cover crops, legumes prevent soil erosion control, help with weed suppression, and improve soil structure. When they are incorporated into the soil, they add valuable organic matter.
All our legume seed comes from high-quality stock and is tested for germination. We've selected the best varieties available in order to maximize each species potential.
