Legume Cover Crops & Green Manure
Legume cover crops, also known as green manures, are used to promote soil health, provide feed for animals, and reduce the use of fertilizers. Legumes have the ability to establish a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, known as rhizobia. This allows the plants to increase total nitrogen in the soil without using fertilizer.
Like other cover crops, legumes prevent soil erosion, help with weed suppression, and improve soil structure. When they are incorporated into the soil, they also add valuable organic matter.
All our legume seed comes from high-quality stock and is tested for germination. We've selected the best varieties available to maximize each species potential.
