Seeds can be stored for 1 to 2 years.
Description
Berseem Clover is a cool-season annual that is native to the Mediterranean region. For thousands of years, it has been grown in the Nile Delta and, therefore is also known as Egyptian Clover.
It is a fast-growing legume that establishes quickly, often filling in bare spots where other cover crops fail to grow. It has a high salt tolerance, high nitrogen fixation rate, and an ability to form synergistic relationships with Alfalfa, Ryegrass and other cover crop species.
Can be grown in a wide range of soils including slightly acidic, neutral and alkaline. It tolerates poor drainage and brief periods of waterlogging. Performance is remarkably better than other clover species in wet, poorly drained soils.
Berseem Clover is high-yielding, has great nutritional quality for livestock and wildlife, helps prevent soil erosion and creates habitat for beneficial insects. When temperatures exceed 15 degrees C, plantings are ready to cut after 60 days. Once established, cutting every 30 days encourages growth and increased Nitrogen production.
Healthy stands of Berseem Clover can fix up to 200 lbs/acre (3.5 lbs/1000 sq. ft) of Nitrogen and up to 6500 lbs of biomass/acre. Fibrous roots also aid the plants in
retrieving and retaining other nutrients within the soil profile.
Can be used with EcoTea Seed Inoculant for increased nutrient efficiency, improved root development and higher disease resistance.
